Only those that like extreme twisty roads.

Any weekend will work for me, I'll just burn a vacation day or two if I need to. Woohoo I love roads in NW Arkansas.

For sure some Dallas guys should make the trip. It's just a short blast up and over for them. I'll be seeing about three of them this Saturday and let them know how fun the roads are.

Do you mind Eureka Springs as a base for the rally??? I love that town. Lots of nightlife choices.

The weekend needs to be the weekend after SADASS, if you please. The idea being someone could start at SADASS, or another Meet, and go along for other meets with two days driving time.

The Midwest would the weekend after yours, and then West is after that.

He is (spelling is correct). It'll have to be after finals Spring semester. I dunno when SADAS is, but any weekend after the middle of May should be fine as far as I know. (I don't have next semester's calendar in front of me at the moment). Then again, IDK how I could possibly miss that - it's right in my backyard, and it's certainly among my favorite places to drive. :D Meeting in Eureka Springs would be fine - it's about 45 minutes from my place, and I've never checked out the night life there. I just hope they have an indoor smoking ban... I'll have to ask my friend who's from there about that.

Not sure about smoking, seems most do now.

Lumberyard is great for late/all night party(they never close), they have live bands. Rock.

For subdued and scenic(great for people and vehicle watching) I like Pied Piper. Right downtown, indoor and outdoor seating. tables back up to a sheer rock bluff.

Or there's like 15 other choices

But the best thing about Eureka Springs(hills)

Would you guys consider the weekend after that?

Don, wouldn't you want to have the midwest [Id, Il, Kn, Oh] meet the weekend after sadas?

I'm flexible, but i do want to accommodate our college friends [of which my son is one] . I among others was disappointed that the last weekend of may was not an option for sadas. I would like to see mark again. Are you trying to have rolling meets so that you [and/or others can attend them all]? If so, I'd like to extend hospitaity, i have a nice 3/4 bd rm home and you can crash here on your way to the next meet if you wish.

Isn't that a Central Meet?

Yes, the idea is of a "rolling meets" concept. I'm not sure of my schedule next year, but I appreciate the invite. :) I'll keep it in mind.

Drop me a PM once you finalize the dates and location.

I have a contact with Wyndham Worldwide Sports Team / Group Sales desk and I am happy to coordinate a discount rate (usually 25-30% off best available rate) at any of the 'core brand' hotels (Days Inn, Ramada, Howard Johnson, Super 8, Knights Inn, Travelodge, Microtel Inn & Suites, Baymont Inn, Hawthorne Suites) for you guys.

We did a Group Rate for the Bear Mountain 2009 event and got rooms for $55 (vs. best available rate of $85) at a newly renovated Super 8.

Well let me come in and regulate!

Hope i dont get a red dot for this post but this is total epic failure!~

we should be posting for a "midwest meet" (at the pigstail in my opinion) that should come after the "central" meet that is being posted about in the midwest forum. Ive been gone from SC for like 2 weeks b/c ive been lazy but it took me a good minute to find my way to the meet closest to me.

Since the idea here was to make them a couple days apart to maybe allow for SC members to attend more than one meet, having the "midwest" (indiana) almost 2 months after the dragon meet is like just way off of what was mentioned by don.

Now if were planning to do it like stated where all the meets are spread a couple months apart then the Ark. meet would need to be in july at the earliest.

Im Super confused as im sure the majority of people in states between and around indiana all the way to california.

The activity on these pages shows the mass confusion.
I figured on this being a big deal everyone would put on their calenders and try to attend but its not drawing in to big of a crowd at all yet.

i dont know if im even posting this in the right place

Who wants to be in Arkansas at a rally in July when it's 90+ degrees?
When we can do it in May when it's in the 70's.

Duska tried to work it where it would be closer to the end of Dragon but his son will still be in school the middle of April.(date chosen).

So April 23,24,25??? Sounds good to me.

23rd, Friday could be arrival day for everybody, 24th Saturday could be the big group run. Sunday travel day home.

I plan on burning some PTO days on both ends so I don't have to rush it. Maybe Friday afternoon we could drive out to the lake and over the swinging bridge and end up downtown for refreshments and eats.

Did y'all have a preference on motels? I've stayed here a bunch of times. Clean, pool, hot tub. They cater to car/bike rallies. Not downtown but 5 minutes away. Just a few feet from pig trail jct.

It's a good route. I know a lot of people like 7 a lot but it's always crowded on Saturdays and it's hard to find a straight section to pass. This 123 replaces 7 and seems like only locals know the road exists. It's actually better than 7 IMO.

Branson is real close to Eureka too.

My last trip to Eureka I stayed a couple nights in Hot Springs. There's a cool twisty loop you can do around the town. And the old downtown is a historic district. Then from Hot Springs I ran scenic 7 up to 16, 16 to 23, 23 to Eureka. 7 is fun on weekdays, not much traffic. Of course I was on a BMW k1200GT so traffic didn't slow me down much

14 S from the MO line is real fun all the way to Yellville. And like Duska said there's some real scenic places inside Buffalo National River Park.

I keep reading this thread and telling myself...."self, ya gotta figure out a way to go. You grew up in AR, you could stop and visit family on the way, how can you not go?". Then self tells me, "it's an 11+ hour drive there, 22+ hours round trip in the Silver Streak!!!! Even with a few breaks that's a heck of a long drive in a sports car with no cruise control !!!:. Then Houmax has to go and talk about driving around my old stomping grounds while I was in college, Hot Springs, and I remember driving Hwy 7 from Arkadelphia to Hot Springs just to get beer or to go to a club on the weekend and I think, that drive would have been SO much fun in the Spyder back then, lol. Well, I'm going to keep looking at the possibility of going and April is a long way off so the trip is going to stay at least in the realm of possbilities. :)

On Colorado trip I found on long boring freeway portions as long as nobody's right on your ass it's easy enough to switch feet on the gas pedal. Drive with left foot for 30 minutes while right foot and leg take a break.

What part of south Arkansas? I grew up there myself and still have family there. Arkansas is sort of divided into north and south with Little Rock being the imaginary middle. It's not unusual to hear people from there saying they've never been north or south of LR depending on where they live, ha.

We were thinking about staying at Swiss Holiday...

... but I called today and there's only 4 rooms left. But, that's just because a motorcycle club reserved a huge block(but not everybody in their club has confirmed yet). He's going to get with them early next week to verify how many rooms they really are going to need.

What would help is a roll call who's all going and who's going to be staying over which nights so I can reserve a block of rooms.

I'll start it off, if your a local and don't need a room go ahead and put your name on the Roll Call just leave room needed for blank, Thanks.

I was born in Magnolia, AR and lived there until I was 12, then moved to Bradley, AR (population 500) until I graduated high school, then I moved back to Magnolia to go to Southern Arkansas University (Go MULERIDERS!...no...not kidding...that's the mascot...) til I was 20, then moved to Louisiana (big mistake, never do it) where I've been for the last 10 years.

Unless you're the exception to the rule, if you grew up in AR you're a Razorback fan even though you went to SAU. I'm a Texas football fan until they play the Hogs, then blood kicks in, ha. Magnolia's just down the road from ElDorado where my parents moved to when I was a sophomore at Henderson. I left AR when I graduated from Henderson and went into the Army and roamed the world for 20+ years and decided to settle back in Texas after having been stationed at Fort Hood and learning to like the state. I hope I get to make the AR meet and get to meet you. We can talk Arkie, lol. Have a great weekend.

Don't follow sports much, but I always start claiming the hogs when they're playing LSU....EVERYONE where I live & work are fanatical Tiger fans. I like getting them riled up.

Yeah, my wife's family is from El Dorado. Where we live in Louisiana is about an hour drive from El Dog, so we go up there to visit them about 3 or 4 times a year. In fact, I drove up there once just to check out a potential Spyder for a SC'er from San Antonio. Small world. :D

My wife and I (MoAtt and Mrs. MoAtt) are definitely in unless finances force us to back out ($200 a night rooms wouldn't help anything...) We would most likely show up Friday and leave Sunday.

Hotel will depend on if rooms are available, that town is hopping in the spring. Lots of car and bike rallies.
I'll let y'all know by the end of the week. If anybody's on a real tight budget there are some $50 a night places in town too. Kind of older, mom and pop type motels. $80 gets you a nice room and muffins for breakfast. $100 gets you a nice room and crepes for breakfast. You should get a BJ for $200 a night :)

No worries, we won't be staying at a $200 a night motel, that's just crazy since we won't be in the rooms that much.

I'm leaving Houston 3am thu morning and leaving Eureka around 9am sun to head home.

I booked one with 2 beds. But it's a small hotel so we ought to snag as many rooms as we might need now because they will go fast. There's a huge bike rally in town that weekend. Plus people come for all the other attractions like the Music reviews, Christian stuff like the Passion play, town is also a honeymoon mecca, lots of the motels even have chappels and honeymoon specials., etc. As event gets closer and guys that are solo with extra room they can cancel their reservation and bunk up to save $$$.

As an example I got a callback from my first choice, the Swiss Holiday, he couldn't even put together 10 free rooms for me that weekend and that's like a 60 room motel.

I get up early, like 5am. If we met up somewhere on 45N around 7am for breakfast we would miss all the rush hour traffic. If we get on the road by 8am we should make Eureka around 5 or 6pm

That sounds good to me. Any thoughts of where to meet. I seldom go up 45, so no idea.

I'm easy, just someplace to get coffee and a bite to eat. Maybe something on 45 around Conroe. Next time I'm up that way I'll look around and see what's up there.

i too have the MW cruise control . it does help!

this thread has almost as much traffic as the SADASS thread. given that last year there were 30+ spyders at SADASS this could be a REALLY big deal!:o

glad it's not quite april yet....don't have my new turbo installed....it's getting a ceramic coating now.

Alright ladies, I will officially be purchasing my motor at the end of the month. Its a 1zz but it will stop me from purchasing so much oil, so I get to save a bit more cash now. I am getting my car detailed a bit for the carshow. Import Reactor, on April 2nd-3rd. I will most likely be taking my gf with me as we wanted to do a trip together somewhere where we have never been to. If I can take Thursday off, I will follow as well and burn a PTO day.

$900 motor
$500 install
$500 new audio setup 5 ten inch subs for show
$500 repairing bumper, reclear hood and side mirrors, painting side mirrors 1DO and hopefully inside the headlights 1DO as well.

Also trying to pick up the TRD Member brace and sway bars.

I hate modding......

i want to see the painted head light interiors especially Rick. i'm thinking that i'm gonna like them.

i just communicated with Don [Da Spyda]. he's thinking of making our meet. Yeah all the way from the east coast.

i'm hoping that with a little encouragement he'll be there. i met him at SaDaS IX last spring he's a fun luving guy. Wouldn't be grand to have the Grand Poobah of SC attend our get together?

I don't hate modding Rick so since you do but have the money to spare I really want a body kit for my silver streak and that amount should cover it and the install so you can spend that money on mods for my car and you just ride up to AR with me (provided I get to go. Hey, that's what friends are for right?

 I'm going to be in the Houston area this weekend Mark. I think we should install it on my car first and I can try it out on a few trips back and forth from there back here to Austin to make sure it's working okay before you take a chance on installing it in your Rotrexed speed demon.

sorry for being a laggard. turned out that my oil consumption issues were from blown seals in my pe turbo. i have a garrett GT2871 with a safe tune now so no worries. BTW it spools up faster and smoother than my old pe.
